Position Description

Lindsay Corporation is hiring a Software Engineer I within its IT division, reporting to the Director of Business Solutions. This important role will be responsible for designing, implementing, delivering, and supporting software solutions for Lindsayâ??s various business applications. Additionally, this role will also be responsible for performing routine maintenance on these solutions, as assigned each development sprint. These solutions will have a significant impact on global business processes and, in most cases, will be highly visible to customers, end users, and executives.

Position Details

This is a full-time, salaried position that is based in our Omaha, NE office and includes a highly competitive salary/benefits package plus eligibility for annual bonus compensation. Travel requirements will be minimal (<5%), but there may be some travel to various, global office locations.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assists in developing, testing, delivering, and supporting high quality software solutions for Lindsayâ??s various business applications
• Work closely with Sr. Software Engineers and product owners to develop and implement approved custom modifications derived from business assessments
• Performs routine maintenance on the existing codebase for the various Lindsay business applications and solutions, as assigned during each sprint
• Codes and configures software functionality according to functional specifications and business requirements
• Unit tests code and debugs thoroughly prior to hand-off
• Researches and resolves reported software problems efficiently, accurately, and in a timely manner
• Adheres to the Lindsay software organizationâ??s coding standards and guidelines, as well as the group's various processes, policies, and procedures
• Clearly communicates issues and roadblocks in order to maintain sprint scope and efficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelorâ??s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent technical education or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of relevant, professional software engineering experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where constant iteration, improvement, and innovation is key to the success of the team
• Robust problem-solving skills, the ability to learn from doing, personal accountability, and a positive and professional attitude
• Ability to clearly and rapidly communicate problems and solutions in order to prevent bottlenecks and facilitate the release process
• Solid understanding of the following: Web APIs, 3^rd Party API Integration, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Agile Scrum, Git Flow
• Demonstrated proficiency with one or more of the following languages or technologies is preferred:
  • C#/.NET
  • Angular
  • SQL databases (i.e., PostgreSQL, cockroachDB, etc.)
  • NoSQL databases (i.e., Cassandra, mongoDB, etc.)
