REI’s solutions include: mobile video surveillance; stop-arm violation reporting; intelligent transportation systems including fleet management, AVL and ETA; camera observation; audio/video including radios, PAs, monitors, microphones, speakers and passenger safety announcement players.

We are in need of an Electronic Engineering Technician to troubleshoot, repair and test various electronic equipment and systems.  Equipment includes a variety of audio, video and digital equipment such as monitors, radios, amplifiers, cameras and digital video recorders.

Essential duties and responsibilities: include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Troubleshoot, repair and update electronic equipment to the component level.
  • Document and log all work performed and test all repairs to a documented standard.
  • Perform equipment tests to various standards.
  • Assist Engineers with assigned duties including documentation, prototyping and installation.
  • Aid with manufacturing and assembly departments.
  • Field Service work as required with occasional travel.
  • Prepare reports as assigned.
  • Construct and calibrate test fixtures.

Qualification requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • Knowledge of analog and digital theory and circuits.
  • Must have basic PC skills and be proficient with standard test equipment including digital multi-meters and oscilloscopes.
  • Be able to read and follow schematics.
  • Good solder skills.
  • Mechanically inclined and be proficient with power and hand tools.
  • Detail oriented with good problem solving and communication skills.
  • Degree and/or certificate in electronics or equivalent experience.
