Currently, we are seeking a talented Tech Audit & Operational Risk Analyst to join the Retirement Solutions Division based in Newport Beach, CA.
The Retirement Solutions Division leverages its strengths in product development, technology, services and risk management to create retirement solutions for individuals, families, and businesses.  With the guidance of financial professionals, customers have access to an array of annuities and mutual funds designed to help grow assets and to provide retirement income for financial independence.

This role supports the QA and Audit functions within RSD Technology Compliance & Audit.  The role is intended to be a feeder role into other roles/areas within RSD Technology.The RSD Technology Audit & Compliance Analyst will perform quality assurance testing of RSD retail annuity contracts. Testing will include all active and inactive annuity contract, rider and auxiliary documents. The RSD Technology Audit & Compliance Analyst will also perform RSD Technology audit related support, including internal and external audits.

Technology Audit Responsibilities (60%)
  • Works closely with the Technology Project Manager on audit related functions
  • Interacts with internal customers, including RSD Technology, RSD Program Management Office, Corporate Technology, Corporate Compliance, Corporate Audit and Enterprise Risk Management
  • Interacts with external customers, including Department of Insurance and external auditors
  • Daily review and validation of internal RSD Technology audit reports
  • Assists with the coordination of audit inquires, research, evidence and responses, including management action plans
  • Assists with the coordination of compliance research and responses
  • Creates and maintains audit related documentation
  • Participates in special projects as assigned

QA Responsibilities (40%)
  • Develops expert annuity product and rider knowledge and applies knowledge for annuity contract page and ancillary form document testing
  • Verifies that the correct state annuity contract document form version generates, is correct and is identical to approved forms prior to move into Production
  • Processes transactions in the New Business and Vantage systems, utilizing detailed product and rider knowledge, to ensure variable content within each annuity contract form document version is populated correctly, for all possible business conditions and field options
  • Audits annuity contract pages and auxiliary forms in Production Image system post system implementation and on ongoing basis for all active and inactive product and rider forms, to verify continued accuracy
  • Creates and maintains department documentation
  • Provides back-up assistance to the Quality Assurance Department for testing as needed

  • 2-4 years of financial services experience preferred, but not required
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Must be a self-starter, well-organized, and able to effectively manage their time
  • Proven ability to quickly adapt to new developments and changing priorities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with multiple levels of management, business staff and software developers
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, exhibit poise and exercise diplomacy in communication, conflict management and decision-making
  • Demonstrated project management skills, techniques & methodology
  • Quality assurance testing experience preferred, but not required
  • IT audit experience preferred, but not required
  • Understanding of internal control and risk management principles preferred, but not required
  • Exposure to internal auditing practices, procedures and principles including knowledge of the International
  • Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing is a plus
  • Information security experience is a plus
  • Relevant industry designations are a plus
