Job Description

The Financial Reporting  Analyst role is a member of the Retirement Solutions Divisions (RSD) Financial Reporting team, which is primarily responsible for ensuring the timely close of RSDs general ledger and accurate reporting of RSDs GAAP and Statutory financial results. This role is responsible for financial accounting, reporting and key financial controls. This role will prepare journal entries, reconciliations and fluctuation analysis to support the close and will be involved with providing information for various reporting requirements, both management and regulatory.

Journal entries Prepare various journal entries with proper support for review on multiple ledgers. Review processes in place to determine improvements in timing, support, or possible automation
Reporting preparation of various reporting requirements including STAT/GAAP footnotes, compliance requests, internal management requests, etc.
Reconciliations and pre-close analytics accurately and timely reconcile balance sheet items such as Deferred Acquisition costs (DAC), reserves, etc.; perform various other reconciliations, including system to ledger and inter-entity; prepare other analytics used to ensure accuracy of financial results
Variable Insurance Trust (VIT) income maintenance monitor, accrue and reconcile VIT income as its earned and/or received from various sources 10%
Special Projects, to include but not limited to, process improvements work with Financial Reporting team and others identifying process improvements in all facets of department responsibilities.

Factors for Success:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting

  • 2+ years experience with CPA preferred

  • Ability to work within a team and with little supervision on routine items.

  • Ability to work with other departments.

  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and communication (written and verbal) skills and the ability to collaborate with others to effectively solve problems
