In 1980, Arrow Distributing began selling RV and MH parts out of one location in Omaha, Nebraska. Today, Arrow has ten warehouses and still grows and maintains the strong Midwestern values that we were built on.

Outside Sales Representative

We are seeking an individual to fill an Outside Sales Representative position within our company. Previous experience working in the recreational vehicle parts industry or manufactured housing industry is preferred but not required. This Outside Sales Representative position can be based out of Kansas City, Kansas or Omaha, Nebraska but will call on dealers in their multi-state territory. Overnight travel is required for this position. A valid drivers license with an acceptable background check and motor vehicle record is required. Must be able to pass a DOT medical card screening as this position may operate truck and trailer if required.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Perform professional presentations or demonstrations of company product(s)/service(s) while on-site.
  • Penetrate all targeted accounts and radiate sales from within client base.
  • Overcome objections of prospective customers.
  • Emphasize product/service features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms and/or reports.
  • Build and foster a network of referrals to create new opportunities for revenue growth.
  • Generate and develop new customer accounts to increase revenue, by cold-calling if necessary.
  • Always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner.
  • Actively manage call schedule to adequately cover assigned territory in a time-efficient manner.
  • Maintain accurate records, including sales call reports, expense reimbursement forms, billing invoices, and other documentation.
  • Periodically conduct information-only presentations, such as seminars, trade show demonstrations, and other efforts.
  • Build and maintain ongoing awareness of new products and services, competitor activities, and other research.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

 

Considerable knowledge of:

  • Customer and Personal Service- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Sales and Marketing- Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems. Previous successful sales experience is preferred.
  • Product knowledge

  • Skills in operating various office equipment (computer with applicable software, adding machine, photocopy machine, telephone, fax machine, and printer)

Working Conditions

  • Frequent travel is required, often up to several hours of driving per day.
  • Ability to travel to, attend, and conduct presentations.
  • Occasional lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
  • Working over 40 hours per week may be required.
  • Exposure to variable weather conditions is likely.
