The League of Human Dignity is seeking a qualified individual to serve as a full time Independent Living Advisor working out of our Omaha Center for Independent Living. This individual will provide an array of services that assist people with disability to live independently in their homes and communities. Services will include information and referral, peer mentor services, advocacy, independent living skills training, and services that help people transition from nursing homes to independent living situations, or assist youth to transition from high school to further education, employment and/or independent living. Other services include financial benefits counseling, coordination of services, and a variety of other services that support people to lead independent lives.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, counseling, educational psychology, education, human development, or closely related human service field, or equivalent full time experience, or a combination of education and equivalent full time experience. In addition, you must also have at least one year of full time experience in a combination of case management, case documentation, coordination of services, collaboration with community resources, teaching, or training.

This position requires travel throughout the League’s Omaha Service Area, and you will need to provide own means of transportation. The League will reimburse you on a per mile basis for your travel.
