Audio & Video Installation/Service Technician Job Description
Responsible for setting up, installing, operating, testing, and troubleshooting audio and video equipment in schools, churches, arenas, stadiums, hospitals and businesses.
Set up and install equipment such as microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, sound and mixing boards.
Pulling and terminating cable.
Set up and operate sound and video equipment.
Ensure equipment is installed according to designated layout.
Qualifications and Skills
Have a good understanding of electronics.
Ability to read schematics and interpret signal flow though circuits is a must for this position.
Competent to install, program, and test all equipment that Electronic Sound sells.
Ability to read and understand English.
Ability to use a high-end multi meter and necessary test equipment to calibrate and measure completed systems.
Must have a good working knowledge of computers and be able to use Microsoft Windows proficiently.
Minimum of 2 year industry related experience or electronics experience is preferred. Certifications on low voltage systems a plus.
Test and resolve equipment issues.
High School Diploma or equivelent. Associates degree in Electronics or equivelent military work experience in low voltage installation and support is preferred.
Must have knowledge of low voltage systems installation.
This position requires a minimum two-year degree in fundamental electronics or proven equivalent. An Installation Technician must have experience installing and troubleshooting electronic equipment such as sound, video, security, fire alarm, telephony, or computers. Installation experience is a plus. Technicians must have a positive attitude and be confident about their abilities. They must be willing to learn in both an organized classroom environment and on their own by studying operation and maintenance manuals. The willingness to take college course and other instruction/certification courses on non-company time increases your knowledge of computers and electronics is a must. This position requires you to own the minimum tools listed in the policy handbook. Purchasing of tools can be arranged thought the company according to our processes.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms both above and below shoulders. The employee will be required to bend at knees and forward bending at waist. The employee is also required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb ladders. The employee must regularly lift, carry and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, dust, height hazard, and electrical hazards. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
