Omaha Early Learning Centers are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, self-starter for the

Administrative Assistant Position!

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for the management of the front desk at our newest Omaha Early Learning Center - Kennedy!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answers multi-line telephone system, takes accurate messages, and transfers telephone calls to the appropriate person in an efficient manner.
  • Assists in scanning and emailing for various departments
  • Collects and sorts incoming mail and distributes to appropriate person promptly.
  • Greets and screens incoming visitors in a professional manner and promptly notifies appropriate person of their arrival.
  • Prepares outgoing mail and other correspondences
  • Receives and signs for packages, and delivers to the appropriate person promptly.
  • Operates standard office equipment to include multi-line telephone system, facsimile machine, photocopy machine, calculator, and computer/printer.
  • Sends documents via email/facsimile as requested.
  • Types correspondence and memorandums in proper format, proofreads, and mails as assigned.
  • Performs other tasks and projects as needed by other team members.

Requirements: 

  • High school diploma and/or equivalent.
  • Previous receptionist experience preferred.
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel, and willingness to learn other software programs.
  • Must be able to pass a background check that meets compliance standards.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Other Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written 
  • Above average attendance and prior work record.
  • Ability to type and perform data entry with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to operate a computer and office equipment, including, but not limited to word processing and spreadsheet software, a telephone, fax machine, and copier.
  • Ability to cordially correspond and establish supportive relationships with caseworkers, parent/guardians, staff and students.
  • Complies with all confidentiality regulations as required.
  • Organization skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities

The Omaha Early Learning Centers, Inc., in partnership with Omaha Public Schools, is a community-based nonprofit organization which operates high-quality early learning programs for low-income children ages birth to three.  Each of these modern facilities occupy their own building on an elementary school campus in one of Omaha’s high-need neighborhoods. The Early Learning Center at Skinner is on the campus of Skinner Magnet in north Omaha, and the Early Learning Center at Gateway is on the campus of Gateway Elementary in south Omaha. A third school, scheduled to open in 2019, is being built adjacent to Howard Kennedy Elementary in north Omaha.

Omaha Early Learning Centers is part of the Nebraska Early Childhood Collaborative family that includes; Educare Lincoln and both Educare Omaha locations.
