Third Shift Floor Supervisor

We are in search of a Third Shift Operations Supervisor for our Council Bluffs, IA manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on position in a manufacturing environment that offers the opportunity to manage and coordinate all 3rd shift production and scheduling activities. This position offers a fast-paced, challenging, work environment where independence and creative thinking are the norm.  Ability to communicate and collaborate with all levels of all the organization is essential.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

This is a hands on position that oversee both direct and indirect reports.  You will contribute to direction setting, provide coaching/training, and work closely alongside your team to safely meet production goals.  

Core hours are 10pm to 7am Monday thru Friday.

The ideal candidate will have a background in manufacturing, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and a passion for leading and developing people.  We are interested in highly-motivated, technically-minded, individuals that strive for success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervision of all 3rd Shift Crew employees (6-8).

• Learn and operate all the equipment for 3rd shift. 

• Provide direction and leadership to the production workforce and conduct production team huddles.

• Onboarding and training of new hires.

• Foster and participate in plant continuous improvement efforts.

• Assist in raw material delivery, processing, and storage management.

• Ensure quality standards and production records are maintained consistently, accurately, and in a timely manner.

• Practice confidentiality with employee sensitive information.

• Promote a safety-centered culture and ensure compliance within the workplace.  Ensure employees are working within company outlined policies and procedures. 

• Supervise and coach all employees to safely meet daily production objectives.

• Fill in for production employees as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS / OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• 1+ years Supervisory experience 

• 2+ years Manufacturing experience (preferred)

• Technical degree is a plus

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. 

• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast paced manufacturing environment. 

• Flexibility to work outside core hours on occasion

• Bi-lingual a plus
