We are in search of an Outpatient Orthopedic Physical Therapist that will serve as vital team member and work collaboratively to provide patient-centered quality care. This individual will be the patient’s partner throughout restoring motion and ensuring that the client will function at their personal best. You will maximize the quality of life and movement potential within the spheres of promotion, prevention, diagnosis, treatment or intervention, and rehabilitation.
Meets the patient's goals and needs and provides quality care following thorough evaluation of the patient; determining individualized physical therapy treatment plans specific to each patient.
Helps the patient in accomplishing mutually created goals set in the treatment plan by utilizing manual therapy; education, encouraging and assisting patients in performing physical activity and exercise; assisting with functional mobility, which may include administering and educating the patient in use of crutches, canes and walkers; and improve independence of overall function and activities of daily living.
Have knowledge of and able to safely and effectively administer physical modalities; including but not limited to electrical stimulation, ice and moist heat, ultrasound and iontophoresis/phonphoresis.
Completes comprehensive discharge planning. Discharge planning may be in collaboration with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers; contributing to patient care conferences.
Assures continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; recommending and/or providing assistive equipment.
Accurately documenting and maintaining clinical records.
Maintains patient confidentially and follows HIPAA compliance.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Successful completion from an accredited Physical Therapy Program.
Holds a current, unrestricted license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the State of Nebraska without any previous actions by the board or other governing body.
Well-developed manual skills and certifications preferred.
3 - 5 years of experience in Out-Patient physical therapy setting preferred with experience in general orthopedics, neck and spine rehabilitation, balance and fall prevention, and gait and mobility
A strong understanding of biomechanics, anatomy and physical rehabilitation along with diagnostic skills are a must.
Ability to lift, lower, push, pull and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 30 pounds of medical supplies and equipment and the transferring and repositioning of patients. Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting, pushing and/or pulling are undertaken which exceeds these minimum requirements.
