Job Title: Occupational Health Manager
Location: Omaha
Reporting to: HR Director/Operations
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for administering hearing tests to employees annually and to new hires during onboarding process
- Administers drug and alcohol screening for new hires and for employees following a recordable incident or reasonable suspicion
- Record hearing test results and compare new results with results from the previous year
- Reviews bloodbourne pathogens, lock out tag out, confined spaces, fire extinguisher, weather, hazmat, bomb threat, emergency evacuation, powered industrial truck, CPR and AED training with select employees annually
- Provide massages and first aid to employees when necessary
- Track each department for hours worked, recordables, and cost of claims accounting for lost time
- Administer restricted duty red-cards to employees following doctor orders
- Work closely with worker’s compensation claims
- Files incident reports and follows up with employee, corporate lawyer, and doctors
- Schedules doctor appointments for employees when necessary
- Ensures adequate supply of first aid materials are available
- Maintain OSHA logs
- Performs other duties as needed by Safety Manager or HR Director/Operations
Required Experience:
- Licensed nurse, registered nurse
- Certified in CPR, AED, and CAOHC
- Experience working in beef industry or working in industrial plant preferred but not required
- Past experience working in ESHS system preferred but not required
Skills/Abilities Required:
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook
- Must be able to respond quickly to emergent or changing employee circumstances and be capable of building trusting relationships
- Must be an attentive listener
- Must be able to work flexible hours and some Saturday work
