Works in collaboration with department manager and physician leader to identify and drive quality and performance improvement initiatives and communicates this to the staff. Monitors and acts as a resource technologist in the daily operations and activities of the Medical Imaging department.  
  • Oversees the work of other personnel by training, allocating, and monitoring work. Performs work of a similar nature.
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department, such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress reports, and other such reports.
  • Performs radiographic examinations.
  • Selects and operates equipment as directed.
  • Ensures the preventative maintenance is performed according to the established schedule.
  • Reviews and evaluates completed tests for quality, completeness, and type of test ordered; ensures quality images.
  • Requests and orders supplies as necessary to keep materials on hand at all times.
  • Assists in development of the capital and operating budgets
  • Assist with Human Resource management Functions such as interviewing, selection, orientation, education/training, feedback, performance evaluation, and policy and procedure development.
  • Actively participates in problem solving and empowered to expedite decisions relating to patient safety, care and service
  • Establishes a positive and professional working environment for staff and physicians in the department
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
  • Attends meetings as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested

  • ARRT (R) registry required
  • Minimum of five years previous experience as an radiologic technologist
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and skill in recognition of normal and abnormal variants.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the radiographic theory, practice, principals and physics
  • Thorough knowledge of radiation safety
