Works in collaboration with department manager and physician leader to identify and drive quality and performance improvement initiatives and communicates this to the staff. Monitors and acts as a resource technologist in the daily operations and activities of the Medical Imaging department.
Oversees the work of other personnel by training, allocating, and monitoring work. Performs work of a similar nature.
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department, such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress reports, and other such reports.
Performs radiographic examinations.
Selects and operates equipment as directed.
Ensures the preventative maintenance is performed according to the established schedule.
Reviews and evaluates completed tests for quality, completeness, and type of test ordered; ensures quality images.
Requests and orders supplies as necessary to keep materials on hand at all times.
Assists in development of the capital and operating budgets
Assist with Human Resource management Functions such as interviewing, selection, orientation, education/training, feedback, performance evaluation, and policy and procedure development.
Actively participates in problem solving and empowered to expedite decisions relating to patient safety, care and service
Establishes a positive and professional working environment for staff and physicians in the department
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
Attends meetings as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
