Performs a variety of diagnostic Nuclear Medicine procedures utilizing radioactive materials, and provides radioactive therapy with unsealed sources.
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Prepares exam room, communicates with the patient, obtains informed consent when necessary, and requests an accurate clinical history as necessary for the exam
Receives patients, explains method of examination, and positions patient.
Selects appropriate imaging techniques and protocols to complete the exam.
Performs IV puncture, and administers IV contrast agent when indicated.
Performs a variety of Nuclear Medicine procedures utilizing multiple types of gamma cameras, utilizing proper injection techniques while injecting radioisotopes
Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation exposure
Documents and communicates patient related information thoroughly and accurately
Orders and stocks supplies, cleans rooms and equipment to maintain work environment
Actively participates in quality initiatives to ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction, highest level of patient care and workflow efficiency.
Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
Attends meetings as required
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
