Our Hillcrest Firethorn location is actively seeking a knowledgeable, experienced Director of Culinary Services candidate. This will be a dynamic facility whose work environment resembles that of a hospital's 'Med-Surge' floor with Bistro-Style restaurant dining. This service line is part of the area's largest continuum provider of healthcare services to aging adults.  As a leader in the industry, Hillcrest Firethorn will specialize in providing around-the-clock care for short-term rehabilitation following surgery, illness or injury. Key Responsibilities:

  •         Development and implementation of the department budget. 
  •         Meet with the administrator as well as other related departments in planning food service programs and activities.
  •         Responsible for hiring and scheduling all team members for the Culinary Department team members. Ensure that department schedules are posted allowing adequate time for team members for planning.
  •         Maintains an adequate stock of staple/non-staple food, supplies and equipment, so that menu items are available and can be served at all times.
  •         Ensures that kitchen sanitation is maintained in compliance with federal/state regulations and facility policies.
  •         Responsible for developing menu cycles compliant with dietary criteria. 

Key Requirements:

  •         Must have a minimum of three years culinary management
  •         executive chef or sous chef (under chef) experience 
  •         Current Serve-Safe or other food safety or HACCP certification upon 90 days of hire
  •         Knowledge of modified diets or healthcare experience preferred
  •         Culinary Arts Degree or BA/BS degree in related field
  •         Executive Chef Manager, Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or Registered Dietician (RD) preferred
