Position Summary

Operate motor grader to perform complex finish grading operations on roadway. Experience with Trimble guidance system is a plus. Must understand grades and have a knowledge of plans and drawings and overall road construction

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Operate motor grader according to job standards.

Abide by company safety program and policies, while performing duties safely.

Perform inspections on equipment.

Operate other equipment as needed.

Meet the obligations under the Workplace Health and Safety Act and the Environmental Protection Act.

Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements and Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A valid NE Driver’s License with a good driving record is preferred.
Previous construction equipment experience is preferred.
Must be able to work according to seasonal and order demand schedule.
Must be able to secure equipment, loading and unloading equipment and cleaning the equipment.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time; use feet, hands and fingers, to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms to operate equipment.

The employee is frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.

The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Occasionally will use a shovel to move material.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The employee may be required to work a 12 hour shift, and during busy season the position may be required to work 5 to 6 days a week.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.

The employee is regularly exposed to construction driving conditions and moving mechanical parts.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

This is a tobacco free campus.
