Position Summary

Constructors Inc. is looking for highly motivated Plant Operator to Oversee and direct the production, distribution and operations for a concrete/asphalt plant facility while meeting the demands of the operation and continually balancing the competing needs of maintenance and production. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, hard worker, and reliable.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.

Assures production and distribution of a concrete / asphalt plant is handled in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by the department/company.

Implement plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and personnel.

Determines work procedures and assigns duties to personnel associated with the batching and hauling of concrete/asphalt.

Provides up-to-date status on support or production reporting activities to appropriate parties.

Coordinate and oversee any updates and / or alterations in plant design.

Responsible for general appearance, safety and security of grounds and buildings, equipment and
machinery.

Conducts safety meetings and plant safety/environmental inspections as required.

Other duties may be assigned.

Position Requirements and Education

  • Must have a good overall technical knowledge of plant operations, safety, training, environmental compliance, equipment and construction projects.
  • Must have basic computer skills and the capability of learning additional software to do the job.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent English language skills, both verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong communication and motivational skills.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure.
  • Great planning and organizational skills is a must.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use feet, hands and fingers, to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms to operate equipment.

The employee is frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 to 60 pounds.

Must be able to sit in the equipment for extended periods of time and be subject to the bouncing of the seat in the equipment.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The employee is required to work up to a 12-hour shift, and during busy season the position may be required to work 5 to 6 days a week.

This it a tobacco free campus and facility.
