Position Summary

Drives diesel powered tractor trailer combination to load, transport, deliver and unload concrete products, reinforcing steel, equipment and scrap materials by performing the following duties. $2,500 Hiring Bonus!

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.

Drives truck to destination applying commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle in difficult situations. Maintains a good driving record.

Know and follow the regulations of the DOT and the states entered.

Maintains driver log according to DOT regulations, fuel and inspection reports.

Maintain truck, trailer and miscellaneous equipment in good, safe working condition.

Block and secure all loads to protect from damage.

Unload pipe, reinforcing steel and warehouse products by hand or with pry bars when required.

Assist contractors when heavy equipment is being used to unload products.

Check all products when delivered to verify the accuracy and condition of the load.

Be helpful and courteous. Be a good representative of the company.

Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements & Education

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have previous truck driving experience.
  • Must have a current Class A CDL with a good driving record.
  • Must have 2 years of tractor trailer driving experience.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years old.
  • Must be able to work according to seasonal and order demand schedule which could mean irregular and extended shifts, and weekends.
  • Will be required to drive during daylight and darkness.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear.

The employee is required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds to a height of 48", turn, twist and carry.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.

Employee is required to work and drive in outside weather conditions, which may be adverse, year round.

The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
