Concrete Industries, Inc. traces its roots to 1929 when General Steel Products Company was founded to satisfy the need for rebar and concrete pipe products in the Lincoln, Nebraska area. In 1955, Nebraska Prestressed Concrete Company was founded to provide bridge girders and piling needed for new bridges and other structures across Nebraska. In 1974, these two companies came to operate under the name of Concrete Industries, Inc.

Position Summary:

Concrete Industries, Inc. is searching for a highly motivated engineering student to join our team. As a student intern you will be involved in assisting our Structural Engineers with their daily tasks and other support activities. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely;
  • Knowledge and basic understanding of structural engineering principles, concepts and practices;
  • Assist Structural Engineers in their daily tasks to ensure we are providing exceptional service;
  • Knowledge and basic understanding in the design, construction and maintenance of building and structures as they relate to present-day requirements for prestressed concrete and other building materials;
  • Ability to follow directions and perform tasks independently;
  • Experience with computer programs and technology used in solving structural engineering problems;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Must be actively enrolled in a four year university working towards completing college Bachelor’s or Master’s level degree--Junior or Senior level preferred
  • Must be pursuing a degree in construction/structural engineering or related field
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License
  • Pre-employment Drug and Back Screening

  • Ability to complete the I-9 requirements to work in the US
  • Wear proper PPE to perform the job
  • Ability to meet the hours and business commitment required for the job
