CDL Concrete Truck Driver,  Three (3) Lincoln locations

Must have at least a Class B (minimum) CDL license & must have an insurable driving record. 

A background check is required,  Pre-employment physical and drug screen required.


Drives a transit mixer truck equipped with auxiliary concrete mixer to deliver concrete mix and other related construction products to job sites

Skills and Abilities:

Previous commercial truck driving experience is preferred. Must meet insurability for driving requirements of the company. Must meet the Department of Transportation (DOT) physical requirements and carry a physical exam card, which is to be kept current according to DOT guidelines.

Other Qualifications:

Must be able to work a flexible work schedule during busy construction season. Must be able to work late or irregular hours. Previous knowledge of construction and construction products is helpful. Must understand and maintain the internal and external customer service responsibilities of the position.  

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, use hands & fingers to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 42 pounds to shoulder height. Must be able to lift, place and set warehouse products as required during load preparation, loading and unloading. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must wear protective devices as required by the company safety policy in the performance of the job.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies while performing duties safely.

Perform minor maintenance to the assigned vehicle--tire pressure, check all fluid levels (water, fuel & oil) and lube ring on mixer drum--as needed.

Daily perform a pre and post-trip safety check on equipment and the truck to assure a safe vehicle. Document any maintenance that may be required. Maintain Log Sheet to meet DOT criteria, if required.
Backs truck under loading hopper, starts mixer to receive concrete. Follows guidelines and instructions by dispatch personnel.
Drives truck to designated job site for unloading. Must distinguish between safe and unsafe conditions at the job site, in traffic and throughout plant areas.
Assemble unloading chutes, and attach to the rear of truck as required. Operate appropriate controls on truck to discharge concrete while being directed by contractor or contractor’s representative (customer) into a conveying device or directly into forms.
When the workload is light, assist other areas--repair/maintenance in the plant area, yard clean-up, etc--if qualified.
Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Language Skills: 

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, city directories, road maps, load tickets, SDS sheets and memos. Ability to write routine correspondence or documentation. Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: 

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Work Environment: 

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions (may be extreme hot and cold). The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts, minimal amount of non-hazardous dust daily and fumes or other possible airborne particles. May be vibration from the equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud to very loud.  Must be flexible regarding the work assigned due to temporary job assignments. This is a non-smoking campus and vehicle.

Candidate is required to meet the above qualifications, task frequency and PPE requirements.  Approval of pre-employment reference & background checks, and post offer drug/alcohol testing with back screens (if required) are required as conditions of employment.
