Oversees and performs day to day yard operations of shipping, receiving, loading and inventory control
of warehouse materials by performing the following:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.
Receives and unloads freight either manually or with equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks; checks for damaged goods; verifies quantity and quality of order; verifies items received with purchase order; stocks shelves and rotates inventory.
Participates in physical inventories of warehouse; maintains inventory records by adding or deleting product as they are shipped or received; operates a personal computer to access, enter, and correct information; answers phones and provides information; may provide advice regarding supplies or property including price and availability; may prepare damage claims for supervisor's review and signature; may coordinate disposal of surplus property and manage records retention.
Prepare inventory for shipment according to designated paperwork
Updates all inventory transactions on the computer to assure the accuracy of warehouse product.
Performs minor repair and maintenance of the front end loader and lift truck. Responsible for informing the appropriate personnel of any major equipment problems.
Maintain the warehouse area in a clean and orderly manner.
Assure SDS forms are maintained and up to date for accurate information and immediate review.
Assists Concrete Industries NE City personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
Other duties may be assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Previous experience in industrial distribution and warehousing with logistics and supply chain management experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend delivery tickets and invoices, load and delivery tickets, SDS sheets and the company safety procedures. Ability to understand work direction.
Must understand basic numbers and math to count inventory or complete orders based on inventory and provide adjustments when necessary.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. Must be able to distinguish between safe and unsafe conditions in the warehouse.
Must have demonstrated computer proficiency. Must be able to operate and assure accuracy of the warehouse contents.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Previous forklift and manual pallet experience required. Must be capable to completing certification requirements of the forklift safety program and passing the test within 30 days.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Must have a good sense of detail and work to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment. Must have previous responsive and courteous customer service support. Must be able to recognize a need to support department responsiveness without being told.
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently. Good physical skills to do the overall requirements of the job. Must be able to take direction from others and work well in a team environment. Must have good customer service skills. This is a one person work environment so attendance and punctuality are key to performing the duties of the job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds to shoulder height. Must be able to climb on and off, in and out of a lift truck as often as required to fill orders placed for delivery. Must have agility to maintain balance on fork lifts while filling orders. Must lift, place and warehouse products on a repetitive basis during loading and unloading process. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, may be extreme hot or cold. Work in a minimal amount of non-hazardous dust daily. May be required to work in any of the environments listed for a temporary job assignment. Must wear any protective devices as required by the company safety policies relating to the assignment being performed. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. This is a non-smoking campus.
