Responsible for provisioning, installation, configuration, maintenance and support of mission critical enterprise servers, active directory and related systems infrastructure components including desktops, printers, mobile devices, etc. Ensure standard configurations, optimized for security, usability, reliability and ease of maintenance, are developed, documented and maintained. Recommend and follow IT best practices to ensure stable and manageable environment. Install, monitor, maintain, support and optimize infrastructure hardware and software. Analyze and efficiently resolve system problems. Contribute toward the creation of internal standards, policies, procedural and technical documentation by performing the following duties.
This position is located in Lincoln, NE. This is not a remote work opportunity.
Education and/or Experience:
Associate or Bachelor Degree (preferred) in Computer Science or related discipline and 5+ years of experience supporting a complex, multi-site enterprise in system design, implementation and support of servers, desktop rollout, application and databases: or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Hands on experience with tools used to automate server, desktop and user management desired.
Minimum 5-7 years’ systems administration experience in a medium to large, complex, multi-site business implementing, maintaining, supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft environments including Windows 2008/2012/2016 and Windows 7/Windows 10.
Minimum 2-3 years’ experience within a SAN environment. Experience with SCCM a plus. VMWare ESX experience preferred.
Able to plan, organize and document complex system design and operational activities and to configure systems to be consistent with organizational policies/procedures; communicate technical/complex information; perform multiple tasks concurrently and effectively respond to urgent situations.
Highly motivated, self-starter with demonstrated troubleshooting skills and “can do” attitude. Able to spot trends and recommend solutions for improvements in process and technology.

Certificates and Licenses:
MSCE or MCSA desirable--must be willing to obtain certification within a reasonable period after employment. Must have a current NE driver’s license and a good driving record to meet company insurability program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.
Ensure the day-to-day operation of servers and desktops, monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance and repair.
Design, implement and maintain enterprise-level servers (physical and virtual), Active Directory and associated Management Systems (SCCM, Solarwinds Orion, VMware, Veeam, etc.).
Monitor and identify capacity and performance requirements for server infrastructure (computer, memory and disk).
Maintain documentation for IT processes, procedures, incident tickets, change orders, network configurations, hardware/software inventory and audit requests. Create and maintain technical and procedural standards documentation.
Oversee system administrations tasks necessary to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of company systems and data including backups and recovery, malware protection, patch management, performance monitoring, and overall security of desktops, servers and other network components.
Configure, install, and maintain all LAN network components including servers, desktops, laptops, mobile devices. Install, maintain and patch system and application software.
Plan, perform and document server revisions (patches, configurations, firmware, application updates, etc.),
Plan, design and configure new systems to meet business unit requirements. Develop custom scripts and test for reliable, streamlined rollout to end users to ensure reliable systems. Document configuration and provide training necessary to allow field techs to provide first level of support to end-users.
Develop and follow procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature and human and system errors.
Develop procedures, programs and documentation for backup and restoration.
Stay current with technological developments in systems administration and management technology.
Assist in the creation and implementation of best practices for streamlined management and operations of desktops, servers, applications, databases, and all other components within the technology infrastructure.
Establish and maintain user accounts, user environment, directories, access control, and security. Ensure that system and file access is restricted to that necessary for user/system to complete task.
Provide advanced troubleshooting to resolve complex technical problems. Backup and provide support to PC techs and end-users as necessary.
Work with IT vendors/hosting partners as needed to resolve issues and to ensure reliable performance of systems.
Install new and upgrade Windows 2008/2012/2016 server and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc.
Review help desk tickets and recommend changes to minimize recurring issues. Use formal change control process.
Communicate with other departments to understand requirements and to help develop practical, cost-effective solutions to meet needs and to resolve technology-related problems.
Research, evaluate and recommend new technologies, network products, services, protocols and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
Advise and consult to assist in developing junior staff to deepen the skillset of the team.
Proactively look for opportunities to improve admin and support of enterprise systems and develop recommendations and initiative approval and plans for moving forward with initiatives.
