Project Support Coordinator, Ashland, NE
Department / Location: Western Sand & Gravel, Ashland, NE
Under general supervision, provides assistance in the planning, organizing and coordinating of various permit processes, and assisting with safety policies and plans, support programs and complying with Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) standards relative to Western Sand and Gravel operations by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.
Coordinate required permits and assure they are done according to standards or needs. Develop schedules and processes for permit applications. Assist various departments and companies to ensure all appropriate permits and regulations are completed on time.
Maintain DOT record keeping for WS&G. Assure accuracy of reporting.
Coordinate WS&G rail storage and review monthly invoicing for accuracy and coding.
Maintain and document all plant gradations monthly.
Assist in the Stormwater/SPCC plan to assure standards are being met and inspections are done according to plan.
Coordinate the portable dredge movement/usage and assure appropriate invoicing.
Assist with maintaining safety policies and safety plans. Communicate development of policies and plans with supervisors and managers. Oversee execution of program policies. Assist with the MSHA safety plan, records, and submittals. Understand and become familiar with MSHA regulations.
Inspects and monitors facilities and equipment for MSHA regulatory compliance. Maintain MSHA training records to assure compliance.
Support the Company Wellness tracking systems for the WS&G employees and coordinate with the Wellness unit to assure information is updated and accurate.
Other duties may be assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management / Engineering or equivalent; and 1 year of experience in construction, skilled trades or maintenance is recommended or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, plants or other structures such as highways and roads would be helpful. Demonstrated knowledge of project schedule management would also be helpful.
Ability to read, analyze, interpret and accurately obtain necessary information from related source documents/data such as design plans and specifications, and other reference materials. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of contractors, customers, and the general public.
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Must be able to define problems, collect data, evaluate resource documents, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must have a valid NE drivers’ license, a good driving record and be insurable under the company’s insurance program.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Must have working knowledge of construction and building equipment. Must have good troubleshooting skills and a high degree of attention to detail. Must possess strong oral and written communication skills. The employee will be on-call for emergency situations and be within 30 minutes of the operation.
Ability to read blueprints, floor plans and wiring diagrams. Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be a self-starter.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands, and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to navigate construction stages and landscape of a project.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to adverse outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee will be on-call for emergency situations and be within 30 minutes of the operation. This is a non-smoking campus and facility.
Condition of Employment:
Candidate is required to meet the above qualifications, task frequency and PPE requirements. Approval of pre-employment reference & background checks, and post offer drug/alcohol testing with back screens are required as conditions of employment.
