Marketing Rep / Business Development - Pacific Gateway

Pacific Gateway, a managing general agent/wholesale broker and proud member of the Berkshire Hathaway group of companies, has an immediate opening for a Company Business Development Representative. This individual will serve as a marketing representative for owned agency operations within the Southern California Region and be responsible for developing new and fostering existing customer relationships in the assigned territory in addition to engaging in field and office underwriting activities.

Other duties include:

• Providing marketing information to agents regarding product opportunities and how to transact business with Pacific Gateway

• Responding to basic inquiries on how to place various Commercial Auto and Property & Casualty insurance products with the company

• Engaging in business development/marketing activities which include identifying and visiting potential and existing customers, attending local conventions, market research, managing the customer/prospect database, creating marketing fliers, updating the website, and sending out e-mail blasts

Qualifications:

Bachelor degree or equivalent industry experience

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Excellent analytical skills

Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines

Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment

Basic math skills
