Summary
Provides basic, foundational instruction to adult learners with varying levels of academic knowledge in the core subjects of reading, writing, math, science, and social studies by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Prepares lesson plan and assembles material to be presented.
Presents lectures and discussions to groups to increase students' knowledge and prepare for the GED exam.
Tutors and supports students in areas of writing, math, science, and social studies in preparation for the GED exam.
Tests and grades students on achievement in class.
Establishes and communicates clear learning objectives for all learning activities.
Maintains up-to-date records regarding student roster, attendance, payments and donations, and grades.
Assists in the coordination of ceremonies, events, and activities to celebrate student successes.
Work with other Adult Education staff to create projects designed to enhance lectures;
Read and stay abreast of current topics in education.
Will provide his/her direct supervisor with test and attendance scores to help the program monitor annual objectives and goals;
Grade tests and perform other administrative duties as needed;

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Basic math and reading skills required.
Must be bilingual in Spanish and English.
