Part-Time Admissions Coordinator

Job Description


This position works directly with the Marketing/Admissions Director to conduct referrals, tours, and admissions. Responsible for ensuring that all the information is obtained, documented and communicated to the appropriate personnel, while maintaining the highest standards of customer service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Complete all necessary paperwork with families as a loved one is admitted into facility
  • Work alongside the Healthcare Administrator and Director of Nursing to review all potential residents
  •  Collaborate with facility management and nursing staff to provide resident with a seamless transistion into facility
  • Maintain and/or improve the occupancy level of the community in accordance with the marketing and business plans
  • Manage the sales/admission process by assisting prospective residents, their family members, referral sources and/or advisors in the decision making process
  • Respond promptly to every telephone call, internet, or in-person inquiry from all referral sources, prospective residents and families
  • File all admissions paperwork with the business office
  • Coordinate information needed from hospital to evaluate a potential referral and participate in onsite evaluations.


  • High School graduate with one or two year’s experience in a nursing home or social agency.
  • Previous experience in marketing or admissions within the long term care setting preferred.
  • Numerical ability required to estimate potential costs, insurance coverage, and financial arrangements for residents.
  • Clerical ability required to recognize pertinent details in reports and to identify errors in omission or calculations when reviewing admittance records.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
