This position, under the leadership of a Director and/or Manager, is responsible for performing a variety of tax and accounting functions in accordance with professional standards, regulatory and legal requirements, and firm policy.

Skills required:

  • Ability to review, identify, and correct errors on tax returns and to efficiently request changes
  • Review and track returns in process, understanding how the final return should look once completed
  • Research unique questions using tax research tools
  • Excellent communication skills, able to interview new individual clients demonstrating professional skill 
  • Good understanding of business returns and the implication of the same on individual taxes
  • Conducting fieldwork for technical/complex audit areas
  • Writing financial statements and footnotes
  • Providing limited supervision and support to staff
  • Performing review of staff work
  • Candidates must possess the ability to process technical information efficiently and effectively while balancing various phases of the audit process

Ideal candidates for this position will possess the following:

  • 2+ years progressive experience in public accounting is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Finance or Business-related field with emphasis in Accounting 
  • CPA certificate (license preferred)
  • Broad based knowledge and understanding of US Tax Code
  • Knowledge of accounting and auditing processes required
  • Strong organization, oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent skills using Microsoft Office products and with accounting software incluing Quickbooks and Quickbooks Online
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and administer multiple projects and deadlines
  • Analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish) desired, not required
