The MSR Group, a, national market research firm, is seeking a skilled Accounting/Human Resources Manager.  We are looking for an experienced professional who can work extremely well independently and in conjunction with the President/CEO. 

The Accounting/Human Resources Manager is responsible for accounting services in the area of accounts receivable, payables, and the creation and processing of invoices.  They are also responsible for Human Resource services, primarily in benefits administration, payroll, new employee onboarding and a variety of general administrative human resources tasks.  In addition to maintaining our vision by adhering to our values, this position must provide the highest level of services to our employees, clients and guests maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor in accordance with established policies and regulations, while maintaining a very high degree of confidentiality.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Accounting

  • Prepares invoices, checks, and various reports.
  • Collects, compiles and enters payroll data using appropriate software by established deadlines.
  • Monitors accounts payable and receivables to ensure that payments are up to date.
  • Tracks company credit card charges and reconciles statements.
  • Investigates problems vendors have with obtaining payment for bills.
  • Performs periodic and as needed inventory of office supplies and equipment.

Human Resources

  • Prepares or updates employment records related to hiring, transferring, promoting and terminating.
  • Explains human resources benefits, policies, procedures, laws and standards to new and existing employees.
  • Ensures new hire paperwork is completed and processed.
  • Maintains and updates employee benefit records.
  • Maintains and updates employee attendance records.
  • Prepares government reports as needed to remain in compliance.
  • Answers employees’ queries about HR related issues.
  • Assists with processing employee grievances.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Excellent organizational skills; able to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  2. Maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  3. Detail oriented, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality.
  4. Effective oral & written communication skills.
  5. Works independently with minimal supervision on a broad variety of projects.
  6. Able to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with employees, clients and guests.
  7. Ability to support various departments and foster teamwork.
  8. Basic knowledge of various employment laws and practices.
  9. Basic understanding of accounting.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience as HR Generalist or assistant with working knowledge in benefits administration and recruiting preferred.
  • Associates degree in human resources, business administration or a related field required.
  • Basic QuickBooks experience required; Medium proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook required.
  • Proven to excel as highly productive, proficient, and accurate with data, and detailed type work, especially in accounting, human resources, and record keeping.
