Financial Analyst II - FP&A

Summary:
The Financial Analyst II is primarily responsible for supporting Advisor Group's Corporate Finance function, which broadly encompasses financial analysis, recruiting economics, long range planning and M&A activities. In this capacity, our selected candidate will play a key role in various analytical efforts within the group while developing and managing relationships with key leaders / stakeholders within various business units.

Responsibilities:
- Develops/maintains complex financial models as part of the long-term planning, recruiting and M&A processes
- Assesses the financial and economic performance of various businesses through detailed understanding of revenue and cost drivers, identifying ways to increase growth and profitability
- Work with specific units in the context of regular financial monitoring, evaluation of new initiatives, budgeting, forecasting, and performance improvement
- Monitors performance of various business units and departments (including variance analyses) and preparing periodic reports to senior management
- Maintains forecasting, budget, and key operating metrics and databases within applicable systems
- Assists with implementation of new tools and systems
- Assists in the production of analysis and recommendations for senior management with respect to strategic business decisions
- Helps to improve current finance processes through simplification and/or automation
- Develops and maintains excellent relationships with colleagues across business units / departments to foster an effective cross functional working environment and collaborative spirit
- All other duties as assigned
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in finance, economics or accounting
- MBA degree is a plus
Basic Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in FP&A, finance or business analysis role
- Solid knowledge of financial statements, corporate finance and accounting principles required
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office products, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience and interest in working in financial/reporting systems (Workday, SABOS, Caesar)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Analytical skills including the ability to identify key trends and drivers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly motivated with demonstrated experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
- Self-starter who will anticipate challenges and work proactively to resolve issues
- Team player with customer service mentality
Preferred Requirements:
- Prior financial services industry experience preferred
