M&A/Business Development Opportunity in Financial Services 

Senior Analyst, Acquisitions and Analysis
 

Location:         Preferred location is in our headquarters in Phoenix, AZ, but will

consider remote with travel as required.

Role Type:       Full-time

Summary:

Advisor Group, a Reverence Capital Partners portfolio company, is seeking an individual to support its Mergers & Acquisitions and Strategic Growth program.  As part of the company's overall strategic plan, the position will work with the executive team to identify, evaluate and execute M&A transactions; to build and analyze financial models for potential acquisitions; and proactively track industry trends and external influences on growth opportunities. This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Acquisitions and Analysis.  

  

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate new investment opportunities for their risks and possible returns, driven by detailed financial analysis
  • Contribute on key aspects of M&A business and financial diligence, deal structuring and negotiation, and the internal transaction approval process
  • Collaborate with and support cross functional teams including Legal, FP&A and Tax/Accounting
  • Prepare material for the presentation of investment opportunities to senior leadership and the board
  • Create acquisition materials such as target proposals and meeting materials, term sheets and legal agreements
  • Monitor and report on industry M&A trends and competitive landscape
  • Develops/maintains complex financial models as part of the company's forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning processes (weekly flashes, monthly reporting, annual planning / budgeting)
  • Determine the best approach to analyzing and synthesizing data and work independently to solve complex problems
  • Assesses the financial and economic performance of various businesses through detailed understanding of revenue and cost drivers, identifying ways to increase growth and profitability
  • Work with specific units in the context of regular financial monitoring, evaluation of new initiatives, budgeting, forecasting, and performance improvement
  • Monitors performance of various business units and departments (including variance analyses) and preparing periodic reports to senior management
  • Maintains forecasting, budget, and key operating metrics and databases within applicable systems
  • Assists with implementation of new tools and systems
  • Assists in the production of analysis and recommendations for senior management with respect to strategic business decisions
  • Helps to improve current finance processes through simplification and/or automation
  • Develops and maintains excellent relationships with colleagues across business units/departments to foster an effective cross functional working environment and collaborative spirit
  • All other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree from accredited university in Business, Finance or related field required

Basic Requirements:

  • 1-3+ years' experience in Finance, Corporate Development or M&A investment banking is preferred
  • Prior financial services industry experience preferred (wealth management, investment management, broker-dealer, insurance, banking, specialty finance)
  • Advanced financial modeling and analysis skills required
  • Highly skilled in the use of business applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with financial reporting and general ledger applications tools (Workday Financials) a plus
  • Highly motivated with demonstrated experience managing multiple projects in a fast paced, deadline-oriented work environment
  • Comfortable working within an entrepreneurial, "roll-up your sleeves" environment
  • Strong analytical skills, including knowledge of valuation methodologies; full understanding of financial statements, corporate finance and accounting principles
  • Experience preparing detailed company business valuations
  • Outstanding presentation and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks
  • Adaptable and capable of working both independently and collaboratively
  • Detail-orientated and analytical with the ability to organize data and think critically
  • Collaborative team player who will support colleagues in their efforts to drive revenue and effectively manage client relationships
