This position will be responsible for creating, designing and developing graphic/visual concepts and materials for Ladenburg and our advisors. Other responsibilities include creating compelling marketing and sales materials using a mix of text, graphics, photography and multimedia that follows the style guidelines of the company; responsible for the design and layout of a variety of materials ranging from brochures, handouts, presentations, ads, learning/training materials in a variety of mediums including print, web, mobile and video. Transform ideas and strategy into impactful designs that effectively capture and promote our company by utilizing Adobe Creative Cloud and the Microsoft Office Suite. Interpret stakeholder and target market needs to create design with high visual impact. 

Job Duties/Tasks:
This position is responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • Complete multiple assigned projects within deadlines while maintaining brand guidelines and design standards with accuracy
  • Create digital designs for internal channels and social media
  • Conceptualize all designs, look and feel of each project
  • Create designs that will reflect and enhance the image of the company brand
  • Follow all compliance and regulatory standards and adjust designs to meet standards
  • Design and prepare graphics and animations for various channel usage
  • Participate in promotion planning and provide creative input for marketing strategy
  • Serve as creative representative on project teams, providing input and direction into creative aspect of all projects and present graphic concepts for approval
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients and Divisional personnel and advise departments on cost-effective ways to accomplish communication goals, facilitating the effective and timely completion of graphics projects
  • Participate in the planning, design and implementation of graphic/visual concepts and materials for meetings and conventions
  • Meet with printers to review new format ideas, press capabilities and new technology to provide strong direction for the department in terms of testing and ideas
  • Provide input on project implementation and budget constraints
  • Develop new design concepts, graphics and layouts
  • Prepare rough drafts and present ideas
  • Amend final designs to stakeholders to gain approval
  • Understand project requirements and concepts, pitch creative ideas and product final design solutions
  • Take on special design tasks
  • Create and deliver photo, video and multimedia content for Internet, social media, marketing campaigns and other channels
  • Design storyboard with input from the requestor and subject matter experts
  • Work with other creative and marketing professions to gather materials and information needed
  • Photograph, record, animate, edit and produce projects
  • Redesign or adapt existing content to satisfy multimedia requirements
  • Design and maintain company multimedia standards and templates
  • Create and manage branding elements for photos, videos and multimedia projects
  • Act as a corporate resource for other departments regarding design 
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures for the Ladenburg creative process
  • Evaluate new multimedia applications, technologies and software and prepare recommendations
  • Inventory photo and video equipment, determine equipment needs, provide rationale and cost estimates and maintain equipment in good working order
  • Research and manage third-party vendor relationships from initial set-up through improvement and maintenance when necessary
  • Collaborate with others to answer questions or brainstorm creative solutions to marketing challenges
  • Develop detailed budgets and timelines for equipment and project needs
  • Continuously communicate project plans and updates with key stakeholders
  • Responsible for the creating and maintenance of creative file structure and organization
  • Create and design email templates and newsletters in the marketing automation tool
  • Create presentation decks, strategy decks and executive decks
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Position Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic arts or design, or equivalent work experience in a designer role for an agency or in-house firm
  • 5+ years’ experience as a graphic designer to include experience in web, print, presentation, video, email, with familiarity with up-to-date industry-leading software and technologies
  • Experience with corporate photography, videography and multimedia, to include skills in lighting, shooting, editing and interviewing
  • Experience in Financial Services, preferred
  • Professional experience with branding, marketing automation design templates, web development, copywriting and video editing to include storytelling tools, including graphics, sound video and animation programs and possessing a creative flair, versatility and conceptual/visual ability and originality
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including internal communications; collaborative/consultative verbal skills with virtually, in-person and with internal teams and coworkers, to include experience working with and presenting to senior executives to be able to interact, communicate and clearly present ideas
  • Ability to work independently and with a team, with minimal supervision and manage multiple competing priorities through effective time management 
  • Accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to proofread your own work
  • Proficiency in typography, layout design, and digital, social media and print design along with the understanding of visual elements (layout, type and fonts)
  • Sound judgement, human relations and organizational skills to exhibit creativity along with problem-solving aptitude 
  • Technical competency in the Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Creative Suite and other design software, Prexi
