Team Leader - Supervision Analyst (Series 7 & 63 required)

Position Overview

The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee the Supervision’s team of Analysts and provide effective guidance in the facilitation of supervisory duties as assigned. This position requires excellent communication skills and is the first point of contact for all Supervision Analyst’s day-to-day operations. Additional responsibilities include smooth transition into the Supervision department, monitor team performance and report on metrics. 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business related field or equivalent work experience
  • 1- 3 years’ experience as a team leader, supervisor and/or performance experience that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position preferred
  • 1-3 years’ experience in the financial services industry preferred
  • Series 7 and 63 required (ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
  • Series 24 required (ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)
  • Series 53 required (ability to obtain within 1 year of hire)
  • Knowledge of performance metrics
  • Effective communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and identify appropriate solutions
  • Ability to make rule based and analytical decisions
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to conduct training needs analysis
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail
  • Proficient in active listening
  • Ability to maintain complete confidentiality of information
  • Ability to effectively function as a team player
  • Ability to be at work on a regular and predictable basis
  • Skill in utilizing various software packages including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Power Point and Excel




Position Duties/Tasks:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Supervision Analysts including workload distribution
  • Monitor team and individual performance, report on metrics and provide recommendations to management
  • Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture
  • Work with management to set clear team and individual goals
  • Provide performance improvement coaching based on data analysis and manager feedback
  • Work with the Supervision Training Unit to conduct training needs analysis on individual employees to create and execute customized training plans based on the needs of the individual
  • Work closely with Deputy Directors of Supervision to identify career development opportunities
  • Closely work with management and other areas of Supervision (e.g., Data Integrity, Risk Reporting, and Project Management) to identify process improvement opportunities
  • Professionally communicate with supervision teams, Compliance and other departments as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
