Summer Intern - Finance

Our summer paid internship experience is the ideal opportunity to take the finance skills from budgeting and forecasting to financial data and analysis you’ve learned in school and apply them in the real world. As a Finance department intern, not only will you be paired with a formal mentor, but you’ll also get hands-on experience solving business needs, supporting the people and the communities where we live, interacting with senior executives, working with a team, developing business acumen and more.

Experience more than day-to-day

Finance interns will use their knowledge of forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis and data, and general finance principles to gain experience and on-the-job skills in the various finance-related responsibilities that are critical to a bank’s operations.

Our ANB interns will learn transferrable skills and collaborate with a network of peers and advocate leaders while developing specialized knowledge to begin their careers in finance. Interns will also be exposed to all departments that make up the bank, giving them the opportunity to understand and learn about the diverse functions that allow a bank to operate. Through this experience, our interns will understand that working in a bank is not just about counting money, it’s about serving clients, providing solutions for everyday needs while looking to the future, growing businesses and taking care of the behind the scenes operations and systems.

Applications for the Finance Summer Internship program will be accepted from February 15^th thru March 31, 2023.

American National Bank Summer Internship Program will run May 23^rd through August 4^th.

Responsibilities

General shadowing and education on banking processes and finance department-specific procedures and needs

Actively strengthen client business and consumer banking relationships
Research client products and existing services, review and collaborate on reporting and forecasting, and identify opportunities to maximize value for clients and the bank
Manage specific projects as assigned by your specific team
Communicate and interact with internal and external clients
Learn on-the-job skills and technologies

Requirements

Pursuing an Associate/ Bachelor/MS Degree, preferably in a finance-related-field
GPA of 3.0 or above preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to think and work independently and in a team environment within a professional setting
Strong analytical, problem-solving and creative and critical thinking skills
Intellectually curious and not afraid to ask questions
Highly organized; ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
