Department/Position Details:

Meet or exceed patient care requirements by coordinating and directing the operations of the patient care area for designated shifts.
Lead patient care by following established guidelines to assure delivery of patient care consistent with private, state and federal regulations.
Monitor performance of the department staff by data collection, coaching, education and role modeling at the direction of management to ensure ongoing performance improvement.
Problem-solves and makes decisions within areas of accountability by using a well-defined approach to ensure effective and efficient patient care.
Demonstrate leadership on the job by continuously updating knowledge in areas or accountability and profession to maintain competence.
Contribute to department performance improvement activities by providing support and resources to improve patient outcomes.
Demonstrate the ability to perform all the staff nurse essential function when providing direct patient care per department requirements.
Comply with safety policies and procedures, regulatory requirements such as OSHA and The Joint Commission and participate in hospital wide safety activities.
Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Education:

Graduate from an accredited school/college of nursing, BSN Preferred
Required Registered Nursing licensed in the State of Nebraska or eligible compact state.
Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.

Experience:

Minimum of two years of clinical experience in medical surgical, critical care or telemetry.
Intraoperative experience preferred. CNOR certification encouraged.

Physical:

This position is classified as Medium Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
