OrthoNebraska is looking for an energetic, detail-oriented and patient-focused Physician Assistant (PA) / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our team. This PA/APRN will work closely with our Orthopaedic Physicians to provide treatment orthopaedic injuries and ailments  This position will support treatment within our Orthopedic Clinics. The Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requires all healthcare workers, as well as individuals who interact with healthcare workers in a work setting, be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment unless a medical or religious exemption is approved. At this time, fully vaccinated means that an individual is at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Department/Position Details/Duties:

  • Provides medical services and clinical education to patients in a clinic setting. Provides medical care and treatment to existing patients
  • Promotes the professional practice of the clinic by maintaining and improving rapport with peers, patients, and the medical community.
  • Responsible for dictating medical finding on patients in a timely and concise manner.
  • Assists physicians in writing new prescriptions and prescription refills
  • Communicates test results to patients in a timely manner
  • Assists physicians in the completion of Worker’s Compensation forms, dictation of attorney letters, and other responsibilities as requested.
  • Assists with on-call duties as needed.
  • Comply with safety activities, policies and procedures and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and The Joint Commission.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities.
  • Attend and participate in department meetings.
  • Attend mandatory educational programs.
  • Follow established guidelines as stated in hospital and departmental policies and procedures

Position Requirements:

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program or Master's degree in nursing from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
  • Licensed or licensure eligible as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Nebraska and Iowa

Experience:

  • Minimum one year of clinical experience preferred
  • Experience within an Orthopaedic environment (especially with knee and hip treatment)
  • Efficient use of information systems, data processing systems, telecommunication devices, office equipment, and etc.

Physical:

  • This position is classified as Medium Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
