    What you would do in this role:

    • Provide radiological services by exemplifying the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform a variety of radiographic procedures utilizing ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis.
    • Provide a high level of verbal communication to calm and reassure the emotional needs of the patient for the benefit of the patient and the hospital with respect to patient care.
    • Responsible for the accurate patient assessment.
    • Responsible for the accurate and safe operation of radiation emitting equipment by following established radiation safety procedures under order to protect the patient and staff from unnecessary radiation exposure.
    • Perform the minimal required safety evaluations on the radiographic systems by following established policies and procedures to detect problems that could cause equipment to fail or pose a safety hazard to the patient/staff.
    • Maintain the various supplies in the rooms by using good organizational skills to provide efficient and effective departmental operations.
    • Maintain good working relationships with associates, staff and students.

    Here’s what makes for an ideal candidate:

      • Graduate of an A.M.A. approved radiologic technology school
      • ARRT registered
      • State of Nebraska license for Medical Radiographer
      • Current BLS certification within 60 days of hire
      • Minimum of two years hospital and surgery experience preferred, but not required.
      • Ability to manage workload in a fast paced surgical environment.
      • Proficiency with most major Radiography fluoroscopy equipment (large and small c-arm) and portable units.
      • Ability to manage and interact with patients and families of all age groups.
