Human Resources Generalist - Days/FT - HR Department

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of HR solutions aligned to the business and HR strategy. Working collaboratively with the designated department directors and managers, the Human Resources Generalist will build and develop effective relationships with the leaders, managers and employees to influence and execute HR processes and initiatives. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas, including, but not limited to: employee relations, training, performance management, compensation and benefits, new hire onboarding, off-boarding, policy implementation, organizational change and employment law compliance. As a member of the HR Team, this role serves on the HR front lines in support of the business.


What you would do in this role:

  • Provide full range of Human Resources advice, support, consultation and guidance, including application of HR policies and processes, to assigned departments and employees
  • Demonstrate a commitment to customer service by ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries and requests from employees
  • Foster a positive work environment and partner with leaders and employees to promote the OrthoNebraska culture
  • Maintain ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Navigate and assist in the resolution of employee issues; leading employee relations initiatives and investigations to ensure a positive and fair work environment
  • Conduct exit interviews, analyzing data and making recommendations to leadership for continuous improvement
  • Support change management related to the implementation of organizational solutions
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the business through exposure to departmental activities
  • Gather and analyze feedback from department and partners with HR Manager in developing and implementing solutions
  • Collaborate with department leaders to execute HR processes and associated activities
  • Implement and manage various HR initiatives (i.e., annual performance review process, benefits open enrollment, new programs/policies, etc.)
  • Provide information and tools to support effective delivery of HR services and processes, including HR related systems


Here’s what makes for an ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration or HR, or equivalent experience;
  • Minimum 3-5 years of solid Human Resource generalist experience
  • PHR/SPHR or equivalent preferred
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws, labor relations and regulations including ERISA, EEOC and DOL
  • Working knowledge of benefits and compensation administration, market pricing, labor law, and organizational development
  • Must have a customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion
  • Must have solid experience in driving positive employee relations, to include strong problem solving, analysis and investigative skills
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with various levels of leaders
  • Ability to effectively coach and influence others
  • Must be self-motivated and able to effectively work independently
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills along with the ability to present and facilitate
  • Some travel between Clinic locations in the surrounding Omaha area, may be required.
