The Facilities Manager is a vital role at OrthoNebraska by providing direction and leadership of all maintenance operations to our 24/7 facility. This role supports the Director of Business Performance to ensure the organization follows The Joint Commission and Environment of Care Standards in maintenance, safety, and security. What you would do in this role:

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of The Joint Commission process as it relates to Environment of Care, Safety, and Security.
  • Assure the facility follows OSHA, NFPA, and guidelines from other regulatory bodies.
  • Write, update, and maintain policies that relate to facility operations. Assist with other policies, including Environment of Care, as requested.
  • Coordinate and conduct facility safety activities; coordinate efforts with Safety Officer.
  • Serve as a member of the OrthoNebraska Safety Committee.
  • Work with contracted vendors to assure internal and external security of the facility.
  • Manage grounds for the campus through managing vendors and administrative staff.
  • Lead and/or assist with project management of facility related issues.
  • Complete required activities/standards prior to initiating new projects.
  • Maintain timelines and working relationships to ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Develop, maintain and communicate metrics regularly with Director of Business Performance. Discussing project timelines, budgets, vendor and organizational needs.

 

Here’s what makes for an ideal candidate:

  • Bachelors Degree in an applicable field. Masters preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of hire.
  • Demonstrated experience in building trades required, healthcare system experience is beneficial.
  • Knowledge in all aspects of facilities management (electrical, mechanical, safety, space management, energy management, etc.)
  • Ability to manage projects from beginning stages to completion.
  • Adapt to rapidly changing environment requiring calm, rational thinking to meet customer demands.
  • Exposure to numerous personality types requires sensitivity and conflict resolution skills.
  • General knowledge of multi-phone lines, fax machine, copiers, printers and other general office equipment required.
