Position at Orion Advisor Technology

Do you want to be part of our strategy of moving into automation testing?  The Quality Assurance Developer will act as an essential link in the project development lifecycle and work closely with the QA team and development team on implementing rigorous regression testing plans daily to ensure the business requirements are tested and verified as identified by the dev team!  

Essential Functions of the Job

  • Creates and updates automated test scripts to ensure accuracy
  • Creates or maintains databases of known test defects
  • Conducts technology compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems, or network environments
  • Creates comprehensive test plans with well defined, reusable test cases from business requirements and functional specifications documents to support the successful implementation and enhancements of the OMS
  • Executes software testing to include functional testing, system testing, regression testing, and performance testing.
  • Documents software defects in an issues-tracking system and proactively communicate issues with developers and leadership.
  • Identifies and reports risks to project schedules and product quality and proposes new methods to control and/or mitigate risks.
  • Develops testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, technology scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability.
  • Leads development projects and coordinate testing plans for large development initiatives.

    Skills Needed to Perform the Job
  • Experience with simple SQL queries and data tables.
  • Knowledge of automated testing tools and their usage.
  • Ability to translate from business requirements to technical testing solutions.
  • Experience with full cycle testing including functional testing, system testing, integration testing, performance and stress testing.
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining careful attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both individually and within a team environment.
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines and address competing priorities.
  • Proficient skills with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Effective written, listening and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective problem solving and organizational skills.

    Orion requires an Internal Industry Certification to be obtained within your first 90 days to familiarize yourself with industry terminology and knowledge.
