Our client is searching for a Leal Support Assistant to join their team.  Under the mentorship of appointed Legal Administrative Assistants (LAAs), the Legal Support Assistant position provides backup administrative and clerical support. The Legal Support Assistant works closely with LAAs to continually grow in understanding and ability to perform administrative functions in a law firm environment and must demonstrate excellent communication, grammatical, proofreading and organizational skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists Legal Administrative Assistants (LAAs) and Legal Support Teams with overflow projects to include creating, formatting, and editing documents; meeting and travel arrangements; and expense reimbursement reports.
  • Receives court notices for proper routing and dissemination.
  • Scans documents into document management system.
  • Assists with billable time entry as needed.
  • Oversees or assists with large mailings, binders, and file organization.
  • Prepares and processes outgoing mail, arranging for specialized mail or messenger services as required, and coordinates activities with Office Services as needed.
  • Proactively demonstrates effective teamwork and communication with team members and all Firm personnel.
  • Takes personal responsibility for regularly exchanging information and training tips with LAAs for maximum job effectiveness.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; some college is beneficial.
  • Two to three years of administrative or clerical experience, preferably in a professional services environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook, basic knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and general database systems; working knowledge of current technology to include imaging and scanning applications.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, energetic, possess the ability to take direction well, and collaborate as a team member.
  • Ability to develop trust and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to successfully perform position requirements with excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills required.
