The Legal Intern is responsible for assisting the Legal and Regulatory Affairs Departments with a wide variety of matters. The individual in this position may assist with projects including records management, legal research and analysis, contract review and administration, regulatory compliance, and other corporate legal issues as needed.




ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function of the job.
 Assist with requests and inquiries from internal customers, which may require researching and analyzing matters in corporate law, labor and employment, international trade, trademarks, and record retention.
 Review terms and conditions in agreements and prepare drafts for attorney review.
 Research legal issues and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for the company on a wide variety of areas, including corporate law, domestic and international labeling regulations, and labor and employment.
 Organize, preserve, and digitize the company's corporate records into the company's contract management system.
 Assist on trademark matters, such as maintaining trademark management database, managing domestic and international intellectual property watch notices, maintaining international trademark status spreadsheets and keeping sales associates updated, and coordinating with domestic and foreign counsel as needed.
 Research legal and regulatory landscape in target countries and engage local counsel when necessary.
 Prepare drafts of sales agreements for use with new and existing customers in various countries.
 Field and research questions related to U.S. export law and international trade.
 Maintain an open and candid working relationship with immediate supervisor/manager in discussing matters of importance.
 Adhere to established company values, practices, policies and procedures at all times. Follow and support compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws, regulations, and standards.
 Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS
 Completion of at least one year of law school.
 Strong academic credentials.

 This is a desk-based job and will require the individual to remain seated for long periods of time and have the manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment such as computer keyboard, mouse, calculator, phone, copier/scanner, and similar machines.

 The individual will work in an office setting in the same room as other individuals. Noise levels are average for an office and include conversation and/or office equipment noise.
