The Manufacturing Planning Manager is responsible for the planning and preparation of production schedules for manufacturing operations. The individual in this position will lead a team of associates to plan and schedule the manufacturing of products and coordinate work on special projects.




ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function.
 Evaluate and continuously improve the production planning process.
 Evaluate current processes and metrics; develop processes and/or metrics to help manufacturing improve service to meet the delivery needs of the company's customers.
 Prepare and present summaries of manufacturing and performance indices to staff and management.
 Develop and maintain effective working relationships across the organization with a specific focus on sales, marketing, and product development to ensure that manufacturing plans support the sales demand and total revenue plan.
 Encourage a team working environment by building trust and cooperation among team members and review team progress regularly to ensure team and company goals are being met.
 Use independent judgment to assign team member work duties to meet operational requirements. Make sure that team members and co-workers have the information needed to perform their job duties.
 Supervise team members in a manner that enables growth and success through feedback, training, and encouragement. Establish performance expectations for team members and provide regular feedback and performance reviews to ensure that team members understand how their job duties support the company's mission and have the right tools/resources to do their jobs well. Use independent judgment to ensure that team members follow company policy and maintain a safe work environment by encouraging safe practices and promptly resolving violations, including initiating or recommending rewards and discipline as needed.
 Drive continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness.
 Maintain an open and candid working relationship with immediate supervisor/manager in discussing matters of importance.
 Adhere to established company values, practices, policies and procedures at all times. Follow and support compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws, regulations, and standards.
 Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS
 Bachelor's degree and two years related experience, or any satisfactory combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties.
 Production planning, scheduling or purchasing experience with large distribution or manufacturing preferred.

 This is a desk-based job and will require the individual to remain seated for long periods of time and have the manual dexterity to operate office equipment such as computer keyboard, mouse, calculator, phone, copier/scanner, and similar machines.
 Remain in a stationary position while performing data entry or supervising team members.
 Regularly move about the plant to oversee operations.
 Observe and interact with associates and equipment in the plant setting.
 Perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels and have the ability to exchange detailed information; in designated areas where hearing protection is required, must be able to communicative effectively while wearing hearing protection.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
The environmental conditions described here are representative of those the associate encounters while performing the Essential Functions of the job.
 The individual will work primarily in an office setting in the same room as other individuals. Noise levels are average for an office and include conversation and/or office equipment noise.
 While performing auditing duties at manufacturing and distribution facilities, the individual may be exposed to hazardous physical or chemical conditions, including mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gasses, poor ventilation, extreme temperatures, and intense noise.
