The Product Development Assistant is responsible for managing and coordinating product development projects with a large degree of autonomy and considerable discretion from the initial sales or operational request through actual production realization.
The individual in this position will collaborate across functional department groups to ensure all aspects of the development process are timely and accurately managed in accordance with the companyâs procedures and policies with special attention to the needs and expectations of the companyâs internal and external customers.
Duties will include:
â¢Responsible for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system setup of finished goods and componentry, including finished good item creation, warehouse assignment, bill of material creation, costing files, etc. while meeting or exceeding quality and accuracy standards.
â¢Execute projects with a large degree of autonomy and considerable discretion bringing new items to product realization while still adhering to best practices of standard operating procedures.
â¢Analyze and interpret largely unspecified product requirements as supplied by Sales and convert that preliminary information into detailed product requirements and specifications.
â¢Implement and document requested amendments to product setup (i.e. Project change management).
â¢Assess the scope and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously in support of business and customer requirements.
â¢Responsible for establishing and meeting project time-lines based on partnering with engineering, manufacturing and other key stakeholders.
â¢Maintain productive, team-based cross-functional relationships with crucial partners and customers including sales, procurement, risk management, graphics, engineering, operations, and customer service.
â¢Long term management of the product structure (B.O.M.) of over 4000 finished good SKUâs and the supporting components.
â¢Respond to the needs of customers, sales team, customer service, operations, procurement, and senior management, in a timely and professional manner.
â¢Evaluate MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning) data to manage the transitions and runouts of existing components and finished goods.
â¢One year experience, relevant college coursework, or any satisfactory combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties.
