At Children’s Square, the Human Resources team is focused on what people need and how to provide it.  For the person who wants to begin a career in the exciting world of HR, this is the best place to start. We’re searching for a qualified and resourceful Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support our organization in ensuring smooth and efficient operations.  The HRBP will run the daily functions of HR including: administrative and supervisory responsibilities, hiring and interviewing as well as employee relations, leave management, compensation and benefits, and enforcing company policies and practices.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with departmental managers on any recruiting initiatives to understand relevant skills and competencies required for each position.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employment eligibility verifications.
  • Partners with management to ensure efficient execution of HR programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and occupational health and safety.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the Chief Human Resources Officer.
  • Attends and participates in employee relations meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Other duties and projects as needed.

 

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • One year of supervisory experience preferred
  • PHR or SHRM-CP a plus.
  • Nonprofit experience is a plus.

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work takes place in an indoor office setting equipped with a computer, desk, phone and other typical office equipment. Work also occurs in the community and travel to other locations is required for meetings and trainings. Flexibility to work hours to support activities.
