Job Description

Children’s Center is seeking Full Time and Part-Time Emergency Shelter Supervisors to work in conjunction with the Director of Child Welfare Emergency Services in implementing staff support and client supervision in the Shelter during the evenings and weekend hours. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee daily activities of unit including case management, completion of reports and supervision of Youth Support Specialists.
  • Supervise Youth Support Specialists including hiring, orientation, staff development, recognition, task management and performance management.
  • Perform Youth Support Specialist duties as needed and role model appropriate behaviors and interactions to Youth Support Specialists and clients.
  • Participate in Supervisor on-call rotation.  Fill in for open shifts as needed.
  • Advocate for appropriate placement children.
  • Conduct peer groups and community meetings for client care.
  • Participate in mandatory team meetings and agency training to maintain a high level of professional care and to make employees aware of client 
  • Gather data and report statistics.

 

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human services preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience working with youth in crisis and their families.
  • Experience in shelter and/or residential care facilities is preferred.

 

Must be able to pass criminal history, child abuse, and sex offender checks and complete a physical and TB test.
