Children's Square U.S.A. is a 136 year old child and family services agency based in Council Bluffs, Iowa.  Over 1300 children and families are served each day in western Iowa and the Omaha, Nebraska metropolitan community through a variety of child welfare, education and behavioral health programs and services.

We are currently seeking a talented individual to consolidate, lead and expand all aspects of our fundraising, community engagement and support activities.  

The successful candidate will be a seasoned fundraising professional with demonstrated experience in annual giving, major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, grant writing, planned giving, event related fundraising and capital campaigns.  In addition to planning and executing this comprehensive fundraising program in support of the agency's needs, this person will also integrate and guide community engagement activities in order that they are in support and compliment the overall organizational and resource development vision and goals.  

Community engagement activities include, but are not limited to, public relations, communications, volunteer services and in-kind support.  This person will work closely with the President and CEO, board members and trustees in communicating the mission and vision of the organization and in securing financial and other resources that will enrich and sustain current programming and advance long-term sustainability.

In addition to a strong background in fundraising and community relations, the successful candidate will be an efficient and effective communicator who is well-versed in verbal and written communication.  This person will have demonstrated financial management skills and experience supervising others. Strong planning and organizational skills, initiative and comfort with a results/goal driven focus balanced with the interpersonal skills necessary to forming and maintaining relationships is important.  

A Master's degree in public administration, philanthropy, finance, management or related field is preferred, as well as five to seven years of fundraising experience with demonstrated results in annual giving, foundation and corporate solicitations, major gifts, planned gifts, communications and special events.  The ability to juggle multiple priorities, manage deadlines and be flexible in hours worked to fulfill responsibilities will be essential and leads to pride and satisfaction in knowing that the lives of children and families are better because of the opportunities, hope and healing available to them through Children's Square programs and services.
