Job Posting: Risk Management Professional, Proxibid

Are you a well-rounded, experienced professional looking to join the fast-paced environment that is our Risk Management team? Our Risk Professionals ensure their tasks are completed accurately, in a timely manner, taking immediate action to mitigate loss, while also analyzing, evaluating, and identifying risk attributes performing in an independent environment. This position safeguards the security and integrity of the Proxibid platform by making sound business decisions, focused on marketplace trust and consumer protection.

Additionally, the Risk Professional will be empowered to make risk mitigation decisions on behalf of Proxibid. This position will require flexible hours: evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, and occasional overtime opportunities.

Job Functions:

  • Preserving customer privacy, maintaining business confidentiality, and appropriately using internal and third-party tools is a top priority
  • Assisting in the execution of Proxibid’s risk management process; including manual reviews, merchant vetting, compliance assessment, and other fraud review components 
  • Understanding buyer and seller fraud queues, trending behaviors on the Proxibid platform, and dispute resolutions
  • Applying sound business judgment to proactively recognize potential fraudulent and high-risk activity and exercising discretion when it is appropriate to deviate from SOPs while documenting assessments 
  • Independently manage risk mitigation and can understand the balance of the value of both Buyers and Sellers
  • Taking immediate action to mitigate against risk and loss that could impact our platform, customers, company revenue or goodwill
  • Responding to law enforcement, consumer protection, and other regulatory agencies on behalf of the company in a professional and comprehensive manner
  • Providing feedback to business stakeholders on a regular basis regarding trends which may negatively impact business units, utilize knowledge to continuously update departmental SOPs, and aptly escalate matters to leadership
  • Ability to informatively and effectively collaborate and communicate policies to cross-functional stakeholders and customers via email and phone 
  • Can be on call to handle emergency issues both day and night
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned by leadership

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Previous fraud experience implementing risk decision solutions required
  • Previous dispute resolutions experience preferred
  • Understanding of the auction industry, consumer protection rights, and/or ecommerce a plus
  • Ability to quickly analyze information, identify patterns of potential fraudulent behavior, and mitigate high-risk activity
  • Self-starter, innovative, and natural leader
  • Must be able to work independently and with a team across all tasks and make critical business decisions for cross-functional success
  • Passion for quality results and holding oneself accountable for results and activity
  • Business acumen and strong common sense, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to maintain a relaxed demeanor under challenging circumstances
  • Bachelor Degree preferred or equivalent experience

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 2 years’ fraud experience implementing risk decision solutions
  • Previous dispute resolutions experience preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to maintain a relaxed demeanor under challenging circumstances
