Life Insurance Project Manager with Third-Party Administrator experience

We are seeking an Insurance Leader preferably with Life Insurance experience who has experience managing projects involving vendors. Very strong focus on vendor management for this open position. One of the projects this role will be managing involves outsourcing a block of the health business to a third-party administrator another project is working with a different third-party administrator to stand-up a direct-to-consumer product offering. The second project will be high visibility with the CEO as the executive sponsor. The EPMO is working more with the business areas so having an understanding of the Life Insurance business, especially with these potential projects, is a must, and the optimal candidate needs to be able to hit the ground running and be able to work independently as soon as possible. Core Responsibilities:

  • Establishes project teams in coordination with Resource Managers, Project Stakeholders and the business
  • Directs project team work efforts to define scope, assess risks, create work breakdown structure/work plan, assign duties or responsibilities to team members and develop a schedule leading to the completion of the project, while ensuring that the project is consistently aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives

  

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in the use of project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices and change management techniques
  • Third-Party Administrator experience
  • Experience managing technical and non-technical vendors on projects involving similar efforts to:
  • moving blocks of business to a TPA that impacts regulatory, compliance, operations, legal and ensuring smooth transition
  • Experience working with Third-party administrator to stand up a direct-to-consumer product offering
  • Ability to adapt to sudden project shifts and to proactively identify and manage the impact of these shifts
  • Ability to lead multiple projects of moderate to high complexity
  • Ability to apply financial forecasting skills to project management methodology
