Job Description

Help plan, organize and supervise EVS department staff and work duties. Assist in enforcing policies and procedures of the department and company.  Train and direct department team members. Support the EVS Manager and Supervisor in all phases of Environmental Services and assume the responsibility of the department supervisor during their absence. Keep abreast of all activities of the department. Maintain all EVS equipment by ensuring all equipment is in working order. Repair, if necessary, any equipment that has minor repair needs. If the equipment repair is a major type, report to Facilities.

Adhere to established department and property policies and procedures regarding guest service standards


This is a uniformed position which requires that the team member be in compliance with uniform appearance standards while on duty


Must maintain the strictest confidence of any and all confidential information disclosed by an Ameristar entity or by a guest of Ameristar


Be aware of operationally related problems and advise the Janitorial Supervisor


Verify that all assignments are completed by the end of the shift and advise the oncoming supervisor of previous shift's accomplishments


Maintain and revise as needed equipment sign in and out sheets.  Repair minor equipment and report other repair needs to Janitorial Supervisor


Coordinate cleaning of all areas of the pavilion and back of the house as directed by Janitorial Supervisor or Janitorial Manager


Oversee special cleaning projects and perform tasks assigned by Janitorial  Supervisor or Janitorial Manager


Complete departmental paperwork timely and correctly


Must possess knowledge of emergency procedures for the land-based areas


Be familiar with the safe handling of cleaning products, equipment, and supplies


Be able to respond to guest requests or place guest in contact with appropriate team member

High school diploma or certificate from an educational institution preferred


Two years of experience in environmental services field


Able to deal with various personalities and situations


Able to make sound decisions quickly


Must have working knowledge of work supervised and desire to reach perfection and excellence


Ability to communicate effectively


Ability to multi-task, dividing attention among several ongoing activities, projects and/or assignments


Excellent guest service skills


Ability to work as a team or independently


Ability to follow and enforce all company policies and procedures


Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays


Strong problem solving, mediation, coaching, and consulting skills.


Excellent verbal and written communications skills.


Knowledgeable of applicable federal, state, and local regulations.


Fully Competent in Microsoft Office


Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
