Maintain and repair mechanical equipment and appliances used to supply heat, air conditioning, refrigeration, water and related utilities as well as maintain the vessel's critical systems. Ability to communicate and understand verbal and written directions and instructions inform fellow engineers, supervisors and managers. Possess the skills in an accepted trade and the mechanical dexterity to perform normal maintenance or construction duties. Follow established procedures and in a safe manner that would not disrupt our guest(s) within the casino or hotel environment.
Maintain generator plants main electrical service.
Maintain emergency generator systems
Maintain parts inventory.
Service and repair HVAC systems.
Service and repair refrigeration systems according to blueprints and engineering specifications.
Replace defective breaker controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring.
Service and repair established gas appliance systems.
May dismantle meters and regulators, and replace defective pipes, thermocouples, thermostats, valves, and indicator spindles.
Adhere to established policies and procedures regarding customer service standards.
Prioritize and complete work orders, daily reports and requisitions for purchase in a timely and comprehensive manner.
Perform daily, routine and preventative maintenance on all buildings and ground areas that are assigned to that individual.
Knowledge of work and safety procedures in the use of manual tools, power tools and other equipment.
Possess necessary knowledge and expertise in completing assigned duties and use of accepted procedures and safety practices.
Perform duties in a safe manner and insure that all work meets city, state and federal codes.
Notify the facilities management when fellow employees and /or contractors fail to meet these standards.
Ability to learn read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams.
Positive interaction with the lead engineer and manager in preparing and/or planning projects involving their specialist skills.
Answer calls of help from all other departments if assistance is needed moving heavy items, respond to emergencies, and fill in where shortage of personnel may exist and any other help that is requested.
Assist fellow facilities engineers when requested.
Perform any other assigned work related tasks as requested by supervisors or managers.
Formal education in specialized field or engineering/maintenance procedures. One to three years experience in related field.
Knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting, and structural layout. Able to read blueprints.
Must have a current valid drivers license
Driving record must meet driver eligibility requirements of Ameristar's insurance policy
