Job Description

Assists in establishing company policy relative to the casino operations and oversees the casino floor on a designated shift. Insure proper floor scheduling. Maintain two-way communication with subordinates to ensure awareness of new policies and procedures.  Maintain a high-degree of professionalism when dealing with internal and external guests.  Be responsible for the supervision and the development Supervisors and oversee the development of all team members on a designated shift.  Administrates policies and procedures in conformity with the State Gaming Commission and Ameristar Casino, Inc. Adheres to Ameristar's guest service requirement and motivate staff to meet departmental objectives. Pay taxable jackpots in slots or table games.


Adhere to established departmental and property policies and procedures regarding guest service standards. 

 

Maintain a minimum of 3.0 quality coaching summary entries per quarter for the Supervisors on the shift. Ensure every team member is receiving three quality coachings per quarter, regular feedback on performance, and a timely evaluation on assigned shift.

 

Assist in hiring and retention of team members.

 

Provide recognition to team members meeting and or exceeding our departmental objectives and guest service standards.

 

Issue timely performance evaluations on subordinates and offer development guidelines and resources to achieve goals and improve performance.

 

Maintain cleanliness standards in casino.

 

Assist in the selection, training, evaluation, supervision, and equitable treatment of casino operations team members.

 

Progressively coach team members not meeting departmental expectations up to and including suspension pending management review.

 

Adhere to casino policies and procedures in slots and table games.

 

Be responsible for the proper taxation on taxable jackpots in both table games and slots. 

Safeguard company assets.

 

Adhere to, interpret, support, and explain established company policies and procedures as well as applicable local, state, federal and other regulatory procedures.

 

This is a non-uniformed position, which requires the team member be in compliance with non-uniformed appearance standards while on duty

 

Must maintain the strictest confidence of any and all confidential and propriatary information disclosed by an Ameristar entity or by a guest of Ameristar Casinos.

 

Address Team Member questions and concerns; conduct internal investigations as needed.

 

Develop, implement, maintain, and monitor an effective team member relations program through effective communication. 

 

Foster and maintain positive team member relations in a supportive environment and interfaces with other departments to ensure a harmonious working relationship.

 

Hire, train, coach, assess and review the job performance of subordinates including both non-exempt and exempt team members.

 

Continue professional development of self and subordinates as well as assist all team members with career planning and counseling as needed.

 

Maintain a high level of professional appearance, demeanor, ethics, and image of self and subordinates.

 

Conduct and attends all regular departmental meetings as well as other related meetings.

Maintain an appropriate level of community affairs involvement.

 

Complete necessary reports in a timely manner to meet deadlines.

 

Respond to reasonable guest requests or place guest in contact with appropriate person for assistance

 

Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.  

 

Perform related duties as assigned by the Casino Operations Shift Manager and Vice President Casino Operations.


Bachelor's degree preferable with emphasis in management, business, finance OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Two (2) to three (3) years experience in the casino industry in slots or table games preferred.

 

Two years leadership experience required.

 

Must have cross-functional expertise in Table Games/Slots within 1 year from the date of hire.

 

Strong problem solving, mediation, coaching, and consulting skills.

 

Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

 

Knowledgeable of applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

 

Fully competent in Microsoft Office

 

Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

 

Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with team member relations issues. 

 

Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organizations.

 

Uses diplomacy and tact to build constructive and effective relationships including during high-tension situations.

 

Ability to obtain support for ideas and actions from subordinates, peers, or superiors in order to accomplish a task or goal.

Ability to identify circumstances or incidents that require the notification and/or approval of others. 

 

Must successfully pass background check

 

Must successfully pass an alcohol and drug screening

 

Must be eighteen (18) years of age
